NikkySports sponsored and organised the Junior Squash Tournament at the Jumeira Beach Hotel in the Sports Pavilion.

The format was a round robin system with American scoring, two games to eleven points. Winners went into the main draw and losers into the plate competition.

In the finals of the open tournament Anand Griffiths was too strong for his opponent Mostafa Mamdouh. Although Anand won in two sets Mostafa’s fitness held out to at least make Anand work for his points.

In the plate competition, Zahid Siddiqui beat the only girl in the tournament Athena McDonald and also took it in two straight sets.
